Adamov - The train station in Adamov in the Blansko region will be reconstructed by Swietelsky Rail CZ for 834 million crowns. The company succeeded in the tender announced by the Czech Railways Administration in April, when the expected contract value was 688 million. Work will begin this October and will last just under a year and a half, said Jan Parchanski, project manager of the company, in a press release today.
The project includes the renovation of the station's track infrastructure, the construction of two new barrier-free island platforms, and a footbridge that will allow people to cross over the tracks to Hybešova Street. Stairs and elevators will lead from the platforms to it. The construction also includes the modernization of the internal spaces of the dispatch building with passenger facilities and the construction of a parking lot for 30 cars. Builders will also construct and expand retaining and noise barriers.
"This is our largest contract in Moravia to date. Work will begin in October and last until December 2022, with the possibility of extension until May 2023. However, that should not affect passengers. The biggest construction challenge will be the new pedestrian bridge and access sidewalk. The structure must be founded into the adjacent slope, creating a local landmark high above the terrain," Parchanski stated.
The construction is related to the modernization of the corridor between Brno, Adamov, and Blansko, which is planned for this September. Work between Brno and Blansko will last until 2023. The scope includes a complete reconstruction of the railway superstructure, the construction of new noise barriers, and the repair of tunnels in the section.
