Prague - The award for Best in Real Estate 2006 this year was won in the category of residential projects by Bydlení Mazanka in Prague 8. Among the new administrative centers, Luxembourg Plaza in Prague 3 emerged victorious, while in the category of shopping centers, the Prague Centrum Chodov dominated, and in the category of hotels, the title went to Chateau Mcely in the same-named municipality. This was announced by Crest Communications.

The competition for this year's 8th edition included 33 projects across four categories. The decisive criteria for assessing the quality of the submitted projects were the choice of location, urbanistic and architectural solution, quality of execution, and especially success in the real estate market.
Bydlení Mazanka, which includes 171 apartments, earned its award from a nine-member expert jury due to the maximum utilization of the location's potential, high quality of the project, aesthetic attractiveness, and commercial success. Currently, 97 percent of the apartments are sold.
Luxembourg Plaza impressed with a successful combination of office and hotel functions. Centrum Chodov won its category primarily for developing a rental mix in a complicated location. The jury praised Hotel Chateau Mcely for its sensitive approach to the restoration of the dilapidated castle, its successful transformation into a hotel, and its architectural integration in the municipality.
The jury awarded a special prize to the reconstruction of the Ladronka estate in Prague 6. This former farm from the 17th century, thanks to the initiative of the Prague 6 municipal district, has created an environment for relaxation, sports, and social life with the adjacent park.
"This year, the hotel category set the highest standard, where several projects of exceptional quality came together rarely. The increasing quality was indeed a characteristic feature of most nominees," stated Kamil Kosman, the chairman of the expert jury.
The expert jury consisted of representatives from the Association for the Development of the Real Estate Market, the Architects' Association, the Association of Hotels and Restaurants, as well as representatives from banks, market research agencies, developers, and real estate agents. The Minister for Regional Development, Petr Gandalovič, took the patronage of this year's edition.
