Otrokovice - This summer, Otrokovice in Zlín will begin the construction of Nové Hurdisky, three blocks of apartment buildings with 42 apartments for rental housing. According to the architectural design by Michal Hladil, the project will cultivate the environment that forms the gateway to Baťa, reported today to ČTK the town hall spokesperson Lenka Vaculová. The Nové Hurdisky project will cost around 125 million crowns, of which grants from the State Investment Support Fund amount to 31 million crowns.
Nové Hurdisky will replace the old Hurdis houses, which the city had demolished. According to town hall representatives, they were in poor condition. The new construction will consist of three blocks, with 14 apartments of sizes 1+kk, 2+kk, and 3+kk in each of the two-story structures. The project also includes a children's playground, sidewalks, roads, and public lighting.
"Nové Hurdisky is a project we have been preparing for several years. Initially, we faced a difficult choice about how to handle the entire area. We decided to demolish the original buildings and construct new, modern housing that will not only enhance the attractiveness of the entire locality but primarily offer much better living conditions for residents," said the mayor, Hana Večerková (ANO).
The city has received a grant and a 20-year loan at a three percent interest rate for the project. "The construction costs amount to 125 million crowns. At this point, we have completed the tender process and are about to sign a contract with the contractor," the mayor stated. The investment is spread over three years in the budget, and completion is expected at the beginning of 2026.
