Prague - Starting Monday morning, cars, buses, and trams will begin to operate over the Troja Bridge across the Vltava River, which is part of the Blanka tunnel complex and the inner Prague ring road. The first public transport connections will run according to the schedule at 4:30 AM. This was announced today by Deputy Mayor Jiří Nouza (TOP 09). New bus connections will also start serving passengers at the same time. Prague originally planned that the construction of the bridge would cost 400 million crowns, but the final price ended up exceeding 1.3 billion. The entire tunnel complex will cost 36.9 billion crowns. According to Prague's promise, drivers will first be able to use it on December 2. It was originally supposed to be operational in 2011. Due to the opening of the bridge in Troja, passengers using public transport can expect changes. The transport company will restore the regular operation of tram line number 17 on the section between the stops Výstaviště Holešovice and Vozovna Kobylisy. The night tram line number 53 will return to its regular route. At the same time, a new bus line number 294 will operate, connecting both banks of the Vltava and replacing line number 292. The arrangement of bus stops at Florence will also change, informed Filip Drápal, spokesperson for Ropid, which plans timetables in Prague.
