Prague - After the Troja Bridge in Prague, which is part of the Blanka tunnel complex, trams and cars will start running on October 6. Deputy Mayor Jiří Nouza (TOP 09) said this in an interview with ČTK. The entire Blanka tunnel was originally supposed to be opened on this date, just a few days before the municipal elections. However, due to issues with the installation of technology, politicians have postponed the commissioning of this key transport infrastructure indefinitely. The company ČKD Praha DIZ is talking about spring next year.

The construction of the problematic tunnel complex, which dates back to the era of former Mayor Pavel Bém, was originally intended to be in service by 2011. However, Prague has postponed its long-awaited opening several times. Over the years, the cost of Blanka has risen by several billion, and the current city leadership does not know how to legally pay the disputed invoices. The final bill is expected to be 36.9 billion crowns.
Due to the unpaid invoices, the city has been in litigation with the construction company Metrostav for several months. The arbitration court has already ruled on part of the lawsuit. In September, the last, likely most problematic part of the negotiations regarding the price of the Troja Bridge is expected. Additionally, arbitration will begin with another creditor, the company Inženýring dopravních staveb.
