Pardubice

Pardubice - Entrepreneur Miloš Holeček, whose illegally constructed villa outside the zoning plan is likely to be demolished by the Pardubice municipality, has complicated the city’s reconstruction of the passage in the center. Following his current actions, costs may increase and the process may be prolonged by several weeks, writes today's Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD) in the regional supplement.
The Pardubice Urban Development Fund, which is overseeing the reconstruction of the Machoň passage, received a letter from Holeček's lawyer, which draws attention to the fact that construction machinery is unlawfully driving over Holeček's land. The company has preferred to halt the use of the land and is waiting for a statement from the lawyers. According to the director of the municipal joint-stock company, Martin Charvát, there was an oral agreement with the entrepreneur regarding vehicle passage. Building an alternative access road would be costly, as a large crane would also need to be relocated.
Holeček wants to discuss the problem; he could use it to save his house from demolition. "We will address everything together, both access to the construction site and the demolition of my villa," he conveyed to the newspaper through his legal representative.
The Urban Development Fund, which is already behind schedule with the construction, might initiate negotiations. However, according to Holeček's lawyer, the agreement would have to include some compromise regarding the demolition of his villa. But that has already been court-ordered, and the city cannot intervene. The only possible path might be a change in the zoning plan.
The entrepreneur does not hide the fact that he will do anything to save his villa. It’s just a matter of whether it is too late. Mayor Štěpánka Fraňková and her deputy Martin Bílek have stated several times that Holeček's villa will be demolished and that there is no other way. Additionally, the Supreme Administrative Court published a ruling two weeks ago ordering the city to carry out the demolition directly if the owner does not tear it down himself.
