Prague - The municipality in Prague's Radotín plans to start building a new town hall next year. It will be located on the site of the former heating plant in Osvoboditelů Square. The costs are estimated at 130 million crowns. Milan Bouzek (ODS), the deputy mayor, told ČTK today. The district has already selected a designer for the new building through a selection procedure. In addition to the Radotín town hall, Prague 12 also wants to build a new headquarters.

"The design of the new town hall, including the building permit, will be completed in September this year. We expect to begin construction in 2020, depending on securing financial resources," Bouzek stated.

The municipality wants to consolidate all officials into the new town hall, who are currently located in five different places. According to Bouzek, some of the buildings are also not in good condition. In addition to the officials, there will be a municipal police station and an employment office in the building.

How much exactly the construction of the new town hall will cost is not yet clear. "It will depend on the final form of the project; we are currently working with an amount of 130 million," Bouzek said. For the construction of the town hall, he will not only use his own funds but will also seek money from the magistrate.

The new town hall is part of the project New Center Radotín, which aims to transform the center of the municipality. As part of the project, for example, a more than 20-meter-wide street with shops and services or apartment buildings is to be created.

Prague 12 is also planning to start building its new headquarters this April. Currently, its officials are located in seven buildings. The costs are expected to reach 500 million crowns.
