Valašské Meziříčí (Vsetín Region) - The Town Hall in Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín region wants to renovate its square, primarily to restore its historical appearance while incorporating modern elements. This was reported today by the Town Hall spokesperson Renata Votrubová. Architect Jan Albrecht presented the proposal to the public this week. The square should have its surfaces leveled to one plane to ensure accessibility. The design also includes unifying the street furniture and placing it in the shade of trees, as well as differentiating the paving materials according to the purpose of each area. New public lighting lamps, benches, and bike racks are set to be added. There are also plans to repair the adjacent Mostní street. "We aimed for minimal intervention within reasonable economic dimensions while ensuring a quality solution for the central space of the city," Albrecht stated. The renovation of the square has been under discussion at the town hall for two years. Four authorial collectives worked on the revitalization study, and the city decided to collaborate with Albrecht. The study will now be evaluated by the city leadership. If accepted, the project preparation will begin, and the cost of the construction work will be determined.
