Rakovník - Rakovník is planning repairs to the historic town hall on Husovo Square this year. It includes repairs to the facade, plaster in the passage, and part of the roof. The council has decided to announce a tender, with estimated costs of 1.5 million crowns excluding VAT, said city hall spokesperson Alida Štulajterová today.

The reconstruction will target the facade on the ground floor of buildings numbered 29 and 30 from the northern side and the entire southern side. "At the same time, a tender has been announced for the repair of the plaster in the town hall passage, including restoration work, and for the replacement of the roofing of the town hall building numbered 27," the spokesperson clarified. The city wants to use funds from the program for the regeneration of urban heritage reserves and urban heritage zones for the project.

The Rakovník town hall is a prominent landmark on the southern side of Husovo Square. The historic building dates from 1734 to 1738, while the current appearance of the town hall was created in the 20th century. The interior features vaults with remarkable stucco decoration and carries frescoes.
