Rakovník - Rakovník wants to announce a tender this year for the modification of the area at Na Sekyře, which is located in the center near the municipal library. Residents selected from three proposals in a survey last spring, and the project is currently being prepared. The mayor, Pavel Jenšovský (ČSSD), told ČTK today.

The city is preparing the documentation at three levels: for the zoning decision, building permit, and for the construction execution. "Everything should be completed by the end of the year," said the town hall spokesperson Alida Štulajterová.

A local industrial company that has production in the city will also contribute to the transformation of the area. According to the mayor, a condition for the financial donation is the completion of the work by mid-next year.

The new area will feature a fountain and a walkable water surface, benches, increased greenery, and generally the space should serve for relaxation and gathering. In the survey, 70 percent of voters supported the proposal that the city will implement.

The largest investment for Rakovník this year is the complete modernization and reconstruction of the indoor swimming pool for about 160 million crowns. The city’s annual budget is approximately 300 million crowns.
