Rakovník - In December, Rakovník acquired a long-unused plot of land in the city center from a private owner in the area known as Na Váze. For now, it will serve as a park. The price was nearly eight million crowns. In the future, the city leadership will decide on possible construction or other uses. So far, nothing has been designed, said Kateřina Hradilová, spokesperson for the Rakovník town hall, to ČTK.
The area of the purchased land in the historic center of Rakovník covers 1,835 square meters, which corresponds to a price of over 4,000 crowns per square meter. "According to the zoning plan, construction should continue there, leading from Trojanova Street," the spokesperson stated. She added that nothing has been decided yet. The city will likely first modify the greenery, and a relaxation zone will be established there. The city leadership has not determined a date for discussing further options.
For example, Kladno purchased an unused plot of land on the outskirts of the city with a dilapidated hotel two years ago. The built-up area was 1,236 square meters, along with over 13,000 square meters of additional land. They will pay a total of 29 million crowns in two installments, with the second installment due this year. The city had the building demolished last year and will decide on its use later; generally, the area should serve the city's residents. Last year, Kladno also focused on finding a possible use for the former hotel through an architectural competition named after Antonín Raymond. The city published the proposals on the website www.antoninraymond.cz.
