Prague – Prague 12 will pay about 129 million crowns for the construction of the Mydlinky kindergarten for 112 children. The building, which is supposed to have low energy consumption, will be constructed by Geosan Group and NEPRO construction companies. This follows from the contract between Prague 12 and the contractor and from the resolution of the city councilors. The new building is the largest investment project of the twelfth district this year. The opening of the kindergarten is planned for 2023. According to some opposition councilors, the project is overpriced, and they had criticized it earlier.

The kindergarten, whose design was created by the architectural office Loxia, will have four classes, a dining room, and facilities. It will be located on plots between K Beránku, Dolnocholupická, and Lešetínská streets. According to the councilor for education, Petr Prchal (TOP 09), this kindergarten will be in an area where there is currently no kindergarten.

The plan for the construction of the Mydlinky kindergarten was approved by the city council in 2019. The reason for establishing a new kindergarten is, according to the city hall, the demographic development in the district and residential construction in the Čechova neighborhood. In the immediate vicinity of the planned kindergarten, new streets Rorýsova and Zlochova have been created in recent years, where houses with approximately 570 apartments have been built. Further apartments are currently under construction.

Prague 12 announced a tender for the construction of the kindergarten for the first time in the first half of 2021 with an estimated contract value of about 76.8 million without VAT. The city hall did not select a winner at that time and canceled the competition because the bids significantly exceeded the estimated price. The project subsequently underwent changes, and Prague 12 issued a new public contract in December 2021, with an estimated price of about 79.9 million without VAT. Five companies submitted bids, and the competition was won by a consortium of Geosan and NEPRO with the lowest offered price.

The new four-class kindergarten, estimated at about 100 million crowns, was previously labeled as "overpriced" by opposition councilors Zdeněk Boublík (Change for Prague 12) and Lenka Vedralová (ANO). She suggested that the new kindergarten in the Čechova neighborhood should be built as a container house.

In Prague 12, the coalition consists of representatives from the Pirates, ODS, TOP 09, and the Greens, with Jan Adamec (Pirates) as the mayor. Prague 12, home to 56,617 residents, encompasses the entire cadastral areas of Cholupice, Kamýk, Komořany, Modřany, and Točná.
