Prague - The Railway Administration is preparing the reconstruction of another eight train station buildings for nearly 376 million crowns. The plans for the reconstructions have now also been approved by the central committee of the Ministry of Transport. The largest projects include the renovation of the heritage-protected building in Bečov nad Teplou and the reconstruction of the station in Bílina. The Railway Administration informed about this today.
Reconstruction, or the construction of entirely new train station buildings, is expected for the train stations in Aš, Chodov, Bílina, Bečov nad Teplou, Světlá nad Sázavou, Dětřichov nad Bystřicí, Valšov, and Moravský Beroun.
After the approval of the project proposals by the ministry, the Railway Administration will continue preparing the reconstructions. Before construction work can start, it is necessary to obtain building permits and announce a public tender for the contractors.
The most expensive construction will be the reconstruction of the station in Bečov nad Teplou for 67 million crowns. The reconstruction, which is expected to start in two years, will include repairs to the surrounding areas as well as the heritage-protected building. A complete renovation of the station in Bílina for 54 million crowns is also expected to begin next year.
Most of the planned projects include renovations of existing buildings. New constructions to replace the current unsuitable buildings are expected in Chodov and Dětřichov nad Bystřicí.
For this year, the Railway Administration plans to reconstruct a total of 116 train station buildings. In addition, preparations will begin for another 55 station facilities. The costs for modernizations and their preparations are expected to exceed 1.7 billion crowns this year. Last year, the organization invested 1.5 billion crowns in station buildings.
