Přerov - Almost 33 million crowns will be invested by the Railway Infrastructure Administration (SŽDC) into the reconstruction of railway station buildings in Přerov and nearby Lipník nad Bečvou. Repairs of both station buildings have already begun and will finish at the end of next year, said Gabriel Jursa, the director of the SŽDC's Passenger Stations Administration in Olomouc, to ČTK today.
According to Jursa, the reconstruction of the listed Přerov station is mainly focused on the external and internal spaces at the first platform, including the hall and roof. In Lipník nad Bečvou, the external parts of the station building will be revitalized, and the project also includes adjustments to the passenger waiting areas.
"The reconstruction of the Přerov station will be carried out in cooperation with preservationists. We have divided it into three phases, and we expect to complete the construction by the end of next year. In Lipník nad Bečvou, we anticipate that we will finish the repairs by the end of November 2018 at the latest," stated Jursa.
According to Jursa, the repair of the station in Přerov will cost 18 million crowns, and the cost of the reconstruction of the station building in Lipník nad Bečvou will be nearly 15 million crowns.
In the next five years, SŽDC plans to invest several tens of millions of crowns into the revitalization or repair of stations in the Olomouc Region. The investments will concern almost fifty stations. "Next year, some of the most significant projects will be the reconstruction of the station building in Hanušovice for approximately 44 million crowns, in Šternberk for 31 million crowns, and in Velká Bystřice for about 5.5 million crowns," said SŽDC spokesperson Kateřina Šubová.
In 2019, SŽDC's management plans to reconstruct the Kojetín station for about 50 million crowns and to repair the station in Prostějov, which is expected to cost approximately 25 million crowns.
