The Award for the Best Architectural Project of 2013 was granted by the International Festival of Architecture and Urbanism Architecture Week Prague within the framework of the Building of the Year 2013 competition.
The award for the best architectural project of 2013 was given by the international festival of architecture and urbanism Architecture Week Prague as part of the Building of the Year 2013 competition to the LINE project by architect Radan Hubička. The building will be constructed at Vítězné náměstí in Prague. The building aims to revitalize the Vítězné náměstí area and, in addition to administrative space, will offer a significant portion of facilities for local services. The investor is preparing the construction for the period of 2014 to 2016. (www.viteznenamesti.cz).
“The Architecture Week Festival Award for the best architectural project will be a new category of the Building of the Year competition, a joint idea and project of the ABF Foundation and the Architecture Week festival. The award should continue to be given in the future to the best architectural projects – not completed buildings – created in that year in the Czech Republic,” says Ing. arch. Tomáš Valent, chairman of the jury.
This year, the general partner of the Building of the Year competition is the Architecture Week festival, which will take place from September 23 to October 20, 2013 at the Jiřský Cloister of Prague Castle and at various locations throughout Prague. Other partners include ABF, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Czech Construction Entrepreneurs Association, and the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Working in Construction.
“I am very pleased that our proposal for the LINE building at Vítězné náměstí has been recognized as the Best Architectural Project of 2013. I am convinced that the LINE building will become a symbol of modern architecture in Prague once it is completed,” comments architect Radan Hubička on the competition results.
The project of the awarded LINE building and its model can currently be seen at the exhibition of awarded works at the ABF Foundation building on Václavské náměstí, and from September 23, 2013, it will be presented at the international architecture exhibition as part of the festival at the Jiřský Cloister of Prague Castle.
