Prague - Prague has received a zoning decision for the planned construction of the emergency service headquarters in Troja for approximately 500 million crowns. The capital city will now seek a building permit, said councilor Martin Dlouhý (TOP 09) in an interview with ČTK. However, the Troja municipal office disagrees with the project and has appealed against the decision. It wants a park and parking lot to be located in the area.

Prague emergency responders currently do not have their own building and are located in a rented and reportedly inadequate building on Korunní Street.
The previous city administration originally planned to complete the construction by September of last year. Last year, Dlouhý spoke about starting construction this year. At this moment, however, he is unable to estimate the start date. "We still hope that we will lay the cornerstone by the end of the year," he stated.
The construction has been delayed due to land acquisition. At the request of the Troja municipality, the entire building in the project was moved a few meters from the original plans. Nevertheless, the municipal district is still not satisfied.
"We believe that this location is not suitable for placing such a large building," said mayor Tomáš Drdácký in response to ČTK's inquiry. "The area will be devalued, blocking its further development. We do not agree with the argument that the location is already damaged, so such a building can grow here," he added. The building is set to be located at the mouth of the under-construction Blanka tunnel near the Troja Bridge. The mayor proposes the creation of a park and parking for the nearby zoo. The site could also serve the needs of a campus.
According to earlier information, the emergency service building is to include a helipad, a dispatch center with 25 operator stations, a garage for the Golem emergency truck, a training center, hotel rooms for guests, a gym, a car repair shop, a laundry, and a dining room. A pharmacy and a wash station are also planned, which would serve the public. The building will have reserves for a potential increase in the number of emergency responders in the future.
