Prague - Building permits will also be obtainable via the internet in the future. The Ministry for Regional Development (MMR) is preparing a project to digitize official processes associated with the Building Act, the office announced today. "Communication between individual building authorities will also be simplified, and people will not have to wait long for the issuance of various documents; everything will be possible to arrange electronically," said Miroslav Kalous, the Deputy Minister for Regional Development. The project aims to save not only the time people spend at government offices but also public administration costs for processing individual documents and their storage. However, the project is still in the preparation phase of the digitization itself. The MMR wants to first analyze the baseline state, and is also preparing an economic analysis and a proposal for the overall digitization of the various agendas of building authorities. The Ministry estimates the completion of the project for February 2012. The total cost of the project amounts to 44 million crowns, most of which will be covered by European Union funds.
