Svitavy - Svitavy are planning an extensive reconstruction of the Cihelna area at the exit from the city towards Polička. In the first phase, they intend to renovate the outdated skatepark, which no longer meets today's conditions, said councilor Ondřej Komůrka to reporters today. The two-hectare area also houses a dog training club, a modeling club, a scout troop, and the Svitavy Automotoklub has a speedway track there. Circuses perform there, and an open-air cinema screens movies.

According to the study, part of the area could be designated for fire sports. There could also be a gym for combat sports, which currently do not have a place in the city, and a parkour playground could be added. Over time, accommodation facilities could also be created. The city hall will discuss the future design at a public meeting.

The Cihelna area will remain available for unorganized sports and other activities. To access the area, the city wants to adjust the local road and build a roundabout at the exit. Over time, land on the other side of the road, where residential construction is planned, could also connect to it. Parking should also be resolved.

The entire project will be divided into phases because it will be costly, with a total estimated cost of around 100 million crowns. The renovation of the skatepark will cost about ten million crowns.
