Prague – The area around the building of the National Technical Museum and the National Agricultural Museum in Letná and the adjacent streets is set to undergo renewal. The municipality of Prague 7, together with the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR), is currently preparing a project for the so-called Letná Museum District. The aim is to cultivate the space and improve the connection between Letenské sady and Stromovka. This was announced today by the spokesperson of Prague 7, Martin Vokuš. The public will also have the opportunity to participate in shaping the project.

"The Letná area between two large parks is one of the busiest and most visited parts of Prague. Therefore, we want to ensure a more refined, friendlier, and greener public space that this significant area and its residents and visitors deserve," said Mayor Jan Čižinský (Prague 7 Sobě).

The Letná Museum District will be divided into two main projects. One will focus on the surroundings of the national museums, Nad Štolou street, and sports facilities on the edge of Letenské sady. The other will then concentrate on Korunovační street. The street will see the restoration and enhancement of the tree-lined avenue and gardens.

"We will also want to coordinate work on the technical infrastructure networks and the renewal of sidewalks and road surfaces. Around the national museums, a representative museum square should emerge, naturally connecting to Letenské sady and Nad Štolou street," stated Deputy Mayor Lenka Burgerová (Prague 7 Sobě).

The public can express their opinions on the new appearance of the space through an online survey. The survey is also available in paper form at the ground floor of the town hall building on U Průhonu street and at the information center on Milady Horákové street.
