Beroun - A new home for seniors with a capacity of nearly 80 places is planned to be built in Beroun. The construction will cost over 132 million crowns and is to be funded by the region, which will also operate the facility. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Beroun city hall, Jitka Soukupová.

The facility is set to be constructed on a plot of land between the Technical Structures of Beroun and the Fire and Rescue Service headquarters. In addition to the accommodation section and kitchen with a dining area, it will also include a doctor's office, rehabilitation, a hair salon, a library with a reading room, and a chapel. The project includes eighteen single rooms and thirty double rooms, allowing a total of 78 residents to be accommodated in the home.
The city has prepared project documentation and building permits. However, the project still needs to be approved by the city and regional councils. Beroun's councilors will discuss the method of transferring the land for the construction of the retirement home on March 9, and on March 13, the regional council will also address the possibility of taking over the prepared construction, including the project and building permit.
For now, seniors in the town of eighteen thousand residents are served by care homes on Na Klášteře street and Míru Avenue, as well as the Retirement Home for Seniors Beroun on Na Parkáně street.
