Dolní Břežany (near Prague) - A new park was opened on Saturday in Dolní Břežany near Prague. It was created in the center of the village on the site of a former dump. The regeneration of the center cost 75 million crowns, Mayor Věslav Michalik informed CTK today.
"We financed the Břežany parks and their facilities from three sources. A significant amount came from European funds, part was financed from private sources, and about five million crowns was contributed by the municipality from its budget," the mayor added. According to him, the city hall has long been striving to transform Dolní Břežany into a place that will not just be a mere sleeping area. Last year, it opened a new square.
The park covers almost six hectares. It includes three water areas, playgrounds, an amphitheater, a skate park, and other spaces for leisure activities. The project was designed by landscape architect Zdeněk Sendler. According to him, the park should be a place for the natural gathering of people.
