Mladá Boleslav - The construction of a leisure activity complex worth 56 million crowns has begun in the Old Town Square of Mladá Boleslav. Most of the funding will come from European subsidies. The complex will consist of an educational exhibition about the history and attractions of the city, an underground mirror maze for children, and a new park with play elements will be created in the square. The complex is expected to be completed this May. Hana Koišová, spokesperson for the Mladá Boleslav town hall, announced this today. The leisure complex will be built above a parking garage that workers are currently finishing. According to Koišová, it will consist of an entrance hall that will be hidden under a partially glazed, reinforced concrete dome covered with greenery. Access to the underground part of the complex, which will be located in the original cellars carved into the rock mass beneath the square, will be permitted from the hall. Above ground, there will be a park with play and other elements. "The small park will be architecturally designed in a similar spirit as the entire square area," added Koišová. According to Koišová, the leisure complex will conclude the revitalization of the Old Town Square. The complex will connect to the parking garage with a capacity of 77 spaces, which is currently operating partially. The long-delayed construction of the parking garage is expected to finish this month. According to the original plans, the parking facility was supposed to be completed last September. The start of the construction was postponed due to archaeological findings. The parking garage is being funded by the city from its budget and will cost over 40 million crowns.
