Sokolov - Today, the restored sculpture by František Pacík and two graffiti by Helena Čubová were ceremoniously unveiled at the Alfa cinema in Sokolov, which now adorn the exterior of the building. Pacík's sculpture was covered in years of dust until restoration work revealed its original appearance, said Jan Picka, director of the Municipal House of Culture in Sokolov.

The creation of outdoor graffiti and the relocation of the sculpture from the exterior to the interior were a result of the thermal insulation of the Alfa cinema. Picka reminded that initially, Pacík's sculpture, created mainly in the 1960s, was to be completely removed. But then it was discovered that it is not a concrete cast, but a valuable marble sculpture. However, its relocation to the interior of the building was quite complicated due to its size.

The graffiti by Helena Čubová appears very modern and provocative. She created two images on the building's façade thematically dedicated to music, film, art, and café life. "I used a quote from the song The End by the group The Doors. Life is also such a dance with death," said Čubová.
The thermal insulation of the Alfa cinema cost a total of about nine million crowns. A slight increase in costs was incurred due to the work associated with removing, restoring, and relocating the sculpture. The expenses for the thermal insulation of the cinema, which was the first in the region with 3D projection technology, were covered from the city's budget in Sokolov.
