Prague - The seat of the prime ministers and the birthplace of the republic will open to the public today on the occasion of the holiday of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovakia Day. As is customary, Kramář's Villa in Prague, which serves as the residence of Czech prime ministers, will be accessible. The representative halls of the Prague Municipal House will also be open for viewing, where the independence of Czechoslovakia was declared on October 28, 1918. The open house event is also organized by the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Prague City Hall.

Kramář's Villa will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Visitors can look forward to tours of the interiors and gardens, accompanied by expert explanations from historians. They will be introduced to the history and current use of the building, as well as the life of its first owners, who were Czechoslovak Prime Minister Karel Kramář and his wife Naděžda. The villa, built in 1915, has 56 rooms. The Municipal House will also be open from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The tour of the halls of this Art Nouveau building will be complemented by organ concerts, and people in the Republic Square in front of the building will be able to watch a dramatized documentary in virtual reality depicting the adoption of the first law of Czechoslovakia regarding the establishment of the state.

In the Chamber of Deputies in Malá Strana, one of the attractions of the open house will be the main meeting hall, which has undergone about a month of renovations. In addition, from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM, representative halls, meeting rooms, and offices of some parliamentary committees, as well as other areas of the Chamber's seat, will be accessible. Groups of visitors will be accompanied by guides from the Prague Information Service, who will inform guests about the history of the buildings, architectural features, and their current use during the approximately one-hour tour.

The Senate will open the gates of the Kolovrat Palace and the Waldstein Palace for interested visitors from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Tours of Kolovrat Palace will be individual, while in Waldstein Palace, guides will introduce visitors to the hidden corners of the historical areas including the Main Hall. They will also be able to peek into the Chamber Hall, where senators hold their regular meetings. Additionally, offices of the vice-chairpersons and the reception room of the Senate President will also be accessible.

The public can also look forward to an exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the death of the first Czechoslovak president, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, in the Mythological Corridor of Waldstein Palace. The exhibition captures the perception of his personality during different stages of modern history, from the protectorate to the post-Velvet Revolution period, and maps his legacy for society.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade's seat in Prague Na Františku will also be open to the public from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In addition to the representative areas of the Fantova building, visitors will see exhibits loaned by the Postal Museum from the years 1918 to 1938. Among the period curiosities is, for example, a restored parcel car, vintage postal stamps, labels, and seals. "The exhibition will also include postal sleds, loaned by the National Technical Museum, and the Administration of Radioactive Waste Disposal will present a detailed model of a nuclear repository," stated the Ministry.

The public will also have the opportunity to visit the Residence of the Mayor of the Capital City of Prague and the New Town Hall building at Mariánské náměstí from 09:00 AM to 6:00 PM. They will also be able to take a look inside the Mayor's office.
