Pelhřimov - Today, hundreds of people were attracted to a special tour of the Větrný zámek villa on the Křemešník hill above Pelhřimov. The villa was started in 1930 according to a design by Kamil Hilbert, who participated in the completion of the St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle, and sculptor Josef Šejnost. However, it is not finished. It was last opened three years ago. It requires repairs costing millions of crowns, and in the long term, part of it could be accessible to the public. This was stated to ČTK by the director of the Matice Křemešnická company, Vít Škoda, and the villa's manager, Jiří Blažek.
Interested visitors looked into the villa during the Three Kings march to Křemešník, which was also connected with a tour of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity. People were able to access the courtyard and the basement. "There was such a crowd that there had to be more tours, 200 to 300 people. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining nicely," said Škoda.
According to Blažek, the building is not yet prepared for large tours. The current owner is Jiří Kovář. "One tower is renovated. Now a supporting wall has collapsed, so the project documentation is being addressed. Mr. Kovář wants to restore it to the original state that Mr. Šejnost historically planned. Today it is in the condition after the construction modifications of the 90s. The first priority now is to make the lower part habitable," said Blažek. Water and partially electricity have been brought to the villa.
Jiří Kovář purchased the unfinished Větrný zámek a few years ago at an auction. The starting price, originally more than three million crowns, dropped to less than a million. Kovář owns a construction company that repairs historical buildings, as previously reported by Mladá fronta Dnes. "There is an effort to make the villa partially accessible to the public," Blažek told ČTK.
Větrný zámek is unfinished. It was started in 1930 by sculptor Josef Šejnost (1878 - 1941) from the nearby Těšenov. On the tower of the castle, there are seven glass ravens, reminiscent of the fairy tale about the seven brothers. Šejnost wanted to build a museum for his medals in the villa, but it remained only a plan. The inspiration for the building was to be a medieval castle with two towers.
