Vilu in the Prague district of Na Hřebenkách was purchased by Rockaway Capital

Prague - The villa in the Prague district of Na Hřebenkách, which was threatened with demolition, has been purchased by the investment group Rockaway Capital. This was reported today by the server Seznam Zprávy based on statements from the villa's original owner. Neither party to the transaction wanted to comment on the price. According to the server, it reportedly amounts to about a quarter of a billion crowns.

"The new owner was really interested in the property, so the negotiations were nothing atypical," Michal Bouška, who sold the villa from the early 20th century to the group, told the server. Bouška and representatives of Rockaway Capital did not want to disclose how much the group paid for the property.

The villa in Smíchov with 26 rooms, designed by architect Viktor Beneš, was reportedly purchased more than ten years ago by the couple Valéria and Jaroslav Haščák. Haščák is a co-founder of the Czech-Slovak investment group Penta. Last year, when the villa was already owned by Valéria Haščáková with the company Slam-Expo, a permit was issued for the building's demolition. A residential building was supposed to be built in its place.

A petition was created against the demolition. The Prague 5 municipality stated at the time that the building authority had no choice but to permit the demolition because the owners provided all necessary opinions and the building is not protected as a monument. The Deputy Mayor of Prague 5, Lukáš Herold (ODS), said last July that the local government disagreed with the demolition. "We are convinced that the villa has historical value, both through its interiors and by complementing the character of the locality," he stated. Subsequently, at the request of the Prague 5 municipality, the Prague city hall filed an appeal against the villa's demolition.

After disputes over the demolition, according to the server, the villa changed owners twice. It first passed to the company Lampron and then to entrepreneur Bouška. In the past, he co-owned the mountain hotel Barbora in Špindler's Mill with Marek Dospiva, another co-founder of the Penta group.
