The Yearbook of Czech Architecture regularly informs not only professionals but also the general public about the current situation in the field and provides stimuli for inspiration and public discussion. For interested parties from abroad, the yearbook serves as a brief overview of the contemporary Czech architectural scene. The selection of 30 buildings for publication in this year’s edition was made by architect Jakub Cigler from works submitted by invited authors and after assessing the buildings on-site. The selection is supplemented by comments on individual buildings and an introductory interview with Petr Volf. In the next chapter, Markéta Veličková talks with Professor Ivar Otruba, a landscape architect. The final chapter traditionally presents an overview of events in the field, profiles of awarded personalities, statistical summaries, and results of selected national competitions, as well as published and recommended books and films.
