Brno - Only the skeleton remains of one of the three administrative towers on Šumavská Street in Brno. It is undergoing reconstruction and will be completed in about a year. Passersby are treated to an interesting view, as one of the towers has already been newly reconstructed, the second is in its original condition, and the third can now be viewed through. The Šumavská tower company began dismantling it at the turn of last year and this year, Radovan Šenkyřík told ČTK on behalf of the building owners.

The second tower, like the first, will receive a completely new façade and all new interior furnishings and installations. It will also be three floors taller than before. The set of three buildings for the company Chepos was designed half a century ago by architect Roman Zajíc, built between 1967 and 1974, with all three buildings reaching a height of 65 meters. After the reconstruction, each will have a different height, with the buildings having 18, 22, and 24 floors. The reconstruction of the last, which will be the tallest, is planned for later.

All three buildings will have a similar façade, each will feature vertical stripes of different colors. The completed building has gold stripes, the one currently under renovation will have silver, and the last will have bronze.

Some of the original tenants have returned to the already reconstructed building. "The tax office and the unions of the Brno magistrate are located here. For the other two, we expect occupancy by new companies that prefer offices in the northern part of Brno with good connections to public transport and a sufficient number of parking spaces. We also offer rentals to former tenants,” noted Šenkyřík.

Intensive work is also being done on improving parking options. Two floors of underground garages with 550 spaces are being built, and additional spaces will be created in the adjacent parking area on Šumavská and Veveří streets, where the city plans to build a parking house for 400 cars. For this purpose, a planning contract was signed at the end of January with the Šumavská tower company, and work is underway on the documentation for the zoning decision.
