Čáslav - Čáslav in the Kutnohorsko region has completed the construction of an ice rink next to the municipal baths in Vodranty. On Tuesday, the building was approved, with a grand opening planned for December 18th. Before the official start of operations, hockey players will test the new rink during the first competitive match on Sunday. The cost of construction and equipment for the facility, including the purchase of a Zamboni, amounts to around 100 million crowns, Mayor Jaromír Strnad (ČSSD) told ČTK.

The new rink is set to expand the range of sporting activities in Čáslav, which includes an athletics stadium, tennis courts, a football stadium, and an indoor swimming pool at the municipal baths. Last year, an uncovered ice rink was created in the first phase, which was in operation for three months. After the roofing, which is being worked on this year, skaters and the hockey club will be able to use the ice surface for a longer period.

New sports facilities are also being developed in other Central Bohemian towns. A 100 million crown ice rink has also been completed in Říčany near Prague. The investor is businessman and former hockey goalkeeper Martin Altrichter, who built the sports complex on municipal land.
