Zlín - Zlin University has commenced the construction of the Laboratory Center of the Faculty of Technology, and the construction site has already been taken over by the contracting company. The center is expected to be completed in November next year, with the university investing 527 million crowns into it, Jana Brázdilová from the university informed ČTK today. The Laboratory Center will offer spaces for teaching in master's and doctoral study programs as well as for research and development activities at the Faculty of Technology. The new building, adjacent to the existing structure of the Faculty of Technology, will feature teaching and special laboratories equipped with modern instrumentation. Students will have access to equipment serving for both qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements, including isotopic analysis, high-performance liquid chromatography, and a fluorescence microscope. The value of the special instrumental equipment will be 25.5 million CZK. In addition to the laboratories, the building will also include three large and three small lecture halls, as well as nine seminar rooms. The university received 448 million crowns for the project from the European Union through the Operational Program for Research, Development and Innovation.
