David Kraus (*1970 Prague) is a graduate of the FA CTU in Prague, studied under Professor Šik (New Czech Work), and since 2002 has his own office, Architektura, s. r. o. He has realized dozens of distinctive family houses and other buildings, including the Administrative Building in Strančice, a House for Veterans in Satalice, an Extension of the Primary School in Hradišťko, a Leisure Center in Luže, etc. In his work, he develops his own alternative path in modern architecture, working with unusual sources of inspiration, images, and the principles of the contemporary world. The experimental work of David Kraus was presented at the VIZE 1997 exhibition. He teaches, publishes, and has received multiple awards. His studio emphasizes practice – the goal is a realized building that enhances the collective experience of the team, characterized by an artistic style, a shared story with the client, and a constant search for information and inspiration, especially outside the field. He cooperates with young architects, creating a loose community around the object Kovárna. David Kraus believes in the simplicity of thought and action, physical movement, martial arts, rhythm, and a truly present world, utilizing, developing, and combining contemporary modern technologies with the simplest construction, seeking a "Czech" way.
