David Kraus

10 Years Happy on Earth

David Kraus (*1970) studied at the Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague under Professor Miroslav Šik (1989-96). Since 2003, he has owned the studio Architektura, s.r.o. and deals with various types of assignments (housing, administration, artistic projects, hotels, operational areas, exhibition installations, interiors, and urban planning). Some projects are realized. In his work, he develops his own alternative path of modern architecture, working with unusual sources of inspiration and with images and principles of the contemporary world. His experimental work was presented at the VIZE 1997 exhibition. A documentary titled White Ravens (Czech Television, 1999) was made about him. He gives lectures, publishes, and his work is represented in the National Gallery and presented in both professional and lay media. David Kraus spoke at Kruh in April 2001, shortly after its founding, with a lecture on Filled Visions.
