Dorte Mandrup is one of the most renowned Danish architects, a professor of architecture and the founder of the MAA studio. Her works include several larger educational institutions, offices, renovations of strictly protected historical buildings, multifunctional buildings, and charismatic points in the landscape. Her architecture is characterized by an analytical yet inclusive approach and a desire to create solutions that cater to users while also belonging to their surrounding context. The lecture will focus on the relationship between architecture, complex construction programs, and conflicting interests. Dorte Mandrup will also discuss the challenge of combining the roles of company director - a position that is not particularly common for women in architecture.
