Architecture from a different perspective

On Thursday December 7, 2017 at 7:30 PM, the last part of the lecture series Different Perspective will take place in the CAMP (Center for Architecture and Urban Planning) at Vyšehradská 51 in Prague. The Hungarian studio sporaarchitects and its co-founders Adam Hatvani and Tibor Dékány will appear alongside Polish architect Piotr Śmierzewski from the studio Analog architecture. The lectures will be held in Hungarian and Polish, with interpretation into Czech provided, and admission is free.

Adam Hatvani & Tibor Dékány: Perspective
The Hungarian studio Sporaarchitects consists of four partners, of whom two – Adam Hatvani and Tibor Dékány – will present the studio's work over the last 15 years at the December lecture. They will focus primarily on their latest significant project, the subway station in Budapest, which is gaining international success. "If we want to encourage people to use public transport, it must be trendy," say the creators. Through their realization, they offer travelers a showcase of cutting-edge contemporary design.
Sporaarchitects is a Budapest office where architects, designers, and urban planning theorists collaborate on architecture, ecological urbanism, and sustainability. It is a laboratory founded with the goal of building an architectural practice that transforms intensive research and analysis of both practical and theoretical questions into the driving forces of design.

Piotr Śmierzewski: Analog Architecture
Polish architect Piotr Śmierzewski will present his key projects and emphasize the importance and significance of research in architecture. His works are based on context and typology. In his lecture, he will address the issue of quality and analog architecture.
Piotr Śmierzewski studied architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology and graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He worked in Germany for over 7 years, where he led his own office Piotr Śmierzewski Freier Architekt in Karlsruhe. He then moved to Poland, where in 1999 he co-founded HS99 with Dariusz Herman. In 2016, Piotr Śmierzewski founded ANALOG, an architectural, design, and urban planning office that strives to use innovative typologies and traditional construction techniques to create meaningful architecture.
