On Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at 7:00 PM, a lecture by Professor Martin Rajniš will take place at Divadlo 29 / St. Agnes of Bohemia 29 in Pardubice.
After the summer break, we continue with the lecture series Offcity Architects, which this year is dedicated to architectural interventions in public space. The authors, whether individuals, architectural studios, artists, or collectives and informal associations, strive through their work to raise questions and attempt to respond to current issues related to public space. We consider it an open and completely natural communication channel, although often one of the most neglected.
The architect Martin Rajniš and his work do not need extensive introduction. His beginnings are characterized by large-scale buildings (e.g., the Prague Department Store Máj from 1975), but he gradually began to focus on designing smaller objects, where wood is the main building material. Some of his widely known works include the Post Office on Sněžka, the lookout tower Bára near Slatiňany, and the airship Gulliver, which has been part of the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague since 2016. He is recognized for his work and contributions in architecture not only at home but also abroad. At the lecture in Pardubice, Martin Rajniš will present his unique opinions on architecture as well as architectural projects and interventions from the studio Huť architektury, which he co-founded with David Kubík in 2012.
Admission: 50 CZK
