We cordially invite you to the first lecture of this year’s cycle OFFCITY ARCHITECTS, which we are returning to after a year-long hiatus, focusing on the theme of architectural interventions. These are mostly temporary installations that enliven public spaces, arouse curiosity, and raise a series of questions. Why are such installations created? Who are the creators? And what is so appealing and provocative about them?
VÍT ŠIMEK AND TOMÁŠ MADRO / H3T Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 7:00 PM at Divadlo 29, Sv. Anežky České 29, Pardubice
Many residents of Pardubice (and not just them) have certainly noticed the levitating black house in the area known as Červeňák in the former military zone by the Chrudimka River. The authors of this installation are architects from the H3T studio, which is why they will kick off this year’s lecture cycle on architectural interventions. The black house is one of many entries into public space for which this studio is responsible. Their mobile saunas, installations during the Prague Designblok, and the Jihlava MFDF are well-known. What led them to realize the levitating house? Are all their interventions guerrilla actions? And why do they even carry out such actions? Come listen to the presentation, but above all, discuss what architectural intervention means!
Admission: 50 CZK
Organized by Offcity z.s. in cooperation with Divadlo 29 as part of the OFFCITY 2017 project. This project is realized with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the statutory city of Pardubice, and the Czech Architecture Foundation.
