The organizers of PechaKucha Nights, evenings filled with design, architecture, and other artistic fields, have today officially introduced the venue for the sixth iteration of one of the most interesting cultural events in Ostrava. After the House of Arts, the music club Fabrik, and the Hlubina and Michal mines, PechaKucha Night will move on Saturday, December 17, to the most significant architectural domain of the entire city – the New Town Hall.
“The location of our sixth PechaKucha Night is a dream come true for us and a confirmation that the entire event holds a unique position on the Ostrava cultural scene. Our gratitude goes not only to the city representatives but mainly to our amazing fans, whose enthusiasm is behind the success of the whole project.” expresses her feelings Klára Žilová, a member of the organizing team.
The evenings, where leading figures from Czech design and architecture present themselves, certainly do not lack fans. All five past iterations were completely filled, and the same is likely for the New Town Hall.“The price for one of the most exclusive venues in Ostrava is unfortunately limited capacity. The main hall accommodates exactly 230 people, and another 70 can watch the presentations live on screens placed in the foyer.” explains Žilová.
It is not yet known whose presentations in the 20x20 format participants will be able to see. However, the organizers promise a colorful mix of various fields, from photography to cultural events to graphic design. Both awarded artists and students will have their space. The only criterion for the dramaturgical selection is the inspirational quality of the presentations, the ability of the presenters to engage, entertain, excite, and broaden the horizons of the participants.
The event will take place on December 17 at 6:00 PM at the New Town Hall in the Council Hall. Tickets are again free and will be available from December 7 at the Infocenter in the tower of the New Town Hall. Information about the event itself, the guests, and photos from previous PechaKucha Nights can be found on the Facebook page of the event or on the official website.
