Venue: Experimental Space Roxy/NoD, Dlouhá 33, Prague 1 Organizer: Civic Association KRUH
On the first Thursday of May, as part of the series We Abroad organized by the Kruh association, architect Ivan Reimann (*1957), who has been working in Berlin since the early 1980s, will give a lecture. Following the recent lecture by Mirko Baum, the series will continue to present significant Czech architects living in Germany. Ivan Reimann studied architecture first at the Czech Technical University in Prague and later at the Technical University of Berlin, where he later worked as an assistant. In 1999, he was appointed professor at the Technical University of Dresden. Since 1988, he has been collaborating with architect Thomas Müller, with whom he currently leads the Berlin studio Müller-Reimann Architekten. Ivan Reimann is among the sought-after creators of public buildings in Germany. Among the works of the studio, the designs and realizations for Berlin are particularly well-known, including the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999) and the administrative complex at Leipzig Square (2005). In 2008, an elegant multifunctional building was completed according to Ivan Reimann's design at Peace Square in Ústí nad Labem – Palác Zdar (in collaboration with Jan Jehlík). Reimann's office is currently engaged in a variety of projects for Germany and the Netherlands.
