In recent months, the importance of care has shifted into our collective focus – whether it's healthcare, household care and its distribution, or care within communities. The second reading this year at Norma space will focus on care based on the book Care Manifesto, published last year in response to current events. How have we historically perceived care in the social hierarchy of activities? What happens when it is lacking? But most importantly – what benefits does it bring beyond its initial purpose? Together, we will reflect on the role of care in our personal lives and professional practices. We will look at good examples of when the principle of care has combined with architecture, urbanism, or economics, giving rise to new qualities.
This reading is also a certain act of care for our community. The aim is not only to analyze the book and exemplary models. The meeting will offer space for introspection through prepared activities and help sometimes disconnected members connect their thoughts and initiatives.
After more than a year, we will physically meet on the gallery terrace while adhering to current measures. This time, there will be no online transmission or recording of the event. You can purchase the book here. For translated excerpts for educational purposes of this meeting, please write to [email protected].
We look forward to seeing you. Norma space.
