Reflection on Architecture 2020 - Špela Videčnik

On Monday, December 7, 2020, at 5:00 PM, Slovenian architect Špela Videčnik from the Ljubljana studio OFIS will give a lecture as part of the lecture series Reflections on Architecture 2020. The lecture will take place online on YouTube and Facebook pages.
Reflections on Architecture are part of the education in the last year of the engineering degree program at the Faculty of Architecture STU. This serves as a foundation for an open platform of a series of publicly accessible lectures and discussions about contemporary architecture. For the fifth year, Reflections have aimed to stimulate discussions about current architectural events, and this year, due to safety concerns, they have moved to the online space. The lectures are broadcast live on the Facebook page of Reflections, with recordings stored on the YouTube channel.
At the end of the Slovenian series, we will welcome Špela Videčnik on December 7, Špela Videčnik, a founding member of the studio OFIS Architects. OFIS is currently the most frequently mentioned Slovenian studio in the international context. Their long-term research into living possibilities in extreme conditions has led them to the realization of several “shelters” and “cabins” with minimal dimensions. However, they also enjoy creating family houses and residences in the extreme conditions of the Slovenian Alps. Their work is ABOUT pushing boundaries, about redefining limits. They regularly publish their research in professional literature. Špela is currently lecturing at Harvard and at the AA in London.
