A villa is being built on the southern coast of the Honduran island of Roatán for Czech investors who wish to spend their leisure time in a tropical paradise. The project combines local construction know-how, high-quality materials, and interior design by the Czech studio ono.je. The result is a house set in a natural scenery with sea views, harmoniously blending functionality and aesthetics.
Thirty miles off the coast of Honduras in the Caribbean Sea lies Roatán – a hidden gem, an island where a villa project for Czech investors is taking shape along its southern coast in the Punta Blanca area. They wish to enjoy their free moments in a tropical paradise, in an area with untouched beaches, lush greenery, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs.

The construction is being handled by a local builder and developer with extensive experience in island conditions, who emphasizes quality and functionality in their implementations.

The design of the villa's interior and its realization is being worked on by the Czech interior studio ono.je.

The newly built house is exceptional for its elevated location – all the main rooms are designed to provide guests with breathtaking views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The villa is conceived for six people, with an interior area of 160 m² and an exterior of 83 m², including a pool.

The main room is a spacious kitchen with a dining area, where a stone cladding in harmony with the wooden kitchen cabinets dominates. Adjacent to the dining area is a living space designed for relaxation and shared time. Large French windows connect the interior with the outdoor kitchen, pool, and terrace.

From the central part of the house, there is direct access to individual bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and entrance to the terrace, ensuring plenty of privacy and comfort.

Wood predominates in the interior – used in both furniture and ceilings – which is typical for this area and helps maintain the connection of the building with the island's character. The distinct grain and color of the wood are balanced by bright, warm, and muted tones found in upholstery, accessories, wall paint, and in large-format abstract paintings created using eco-printing.

A significant element in both the interior and exterior is soft, atmospheric lighting, designed to create a pleasant and calm evening atmosphere after dark.

Stone cladding and flooring along with solid wood represent a proven combination that naturally fits into the coastal style. The house thus combines the rawness and wildness of the Caribbean island with a light touch of luxury.
