We invite Czech architects and designers to participate in the international competition organized by the Italian design studio DTS - Create your Tile. Participants are tasked with designing an innovative and original collection of ceramics that will have commercial potential, align with the possibilities of industrial production, and reflect the main principles and values of the creative studio DTS.
"At Archtiles, we believe that our creative potential, our historical and deeply rooted relationship with tasteful decoration and architecture predestines us to offer something purely Czech to the world, which will be introduced into the global sales network thanks to the manufacturer REFIN. If the design is successful, we could soon walk on pavements in New York or Tokyo that hide a piece of Czech idea and creativity," encourages participation Petr Kunt from Archtiles.
The winning design will be presented at the international Cersaie fair in Bologna, Italy, this September, and the author will gain not only financial profit but, above all, the opportunity to rank among the great stars of world design such as Michele De Lucchi or fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.
The quality of the competing designs will be judged in several rounds by an international jury composed of personalities from world design and architecture, journalists, and representatives from Refin and the DesignTaleStudio brand. Leading the jury will be architects Alessandro and Francesco Mendini. Detailed information about the application conditions for the competition can be found at www.designtalestudio.com.
The DTS studio (DesignTaleStudio) was founded in 2005 and is supported by the world-renowned ceramics company Refin. Its goal and mission is to rediscover the beauty and value of handmade ceramics as an expression of the designer's creativity and the uniqueness of each artist, which is elevated beyond mere economic viability of industrially produced series.
The members of the studio see ceramics production as a process that they cannot always control perfectly. The final product is for them a combination of water, earth, and fire, whose final form is influenced by both the work of nature and human labor. The goal of DTS is for this collaboration to result in not only industrial products but also authentic works of art. This sentiment is shared by the Czech team Archtiles, which invites all designers and architects to participate in this competition.
The Archtiles team is rooting for all participants from the Czech Republic and believes that soon they will see the work of one of them in their Holesovice showroom, where they offer the best from the production of world manufacturers of ceramic tiles, pavements, and mosaics. "We select the range based on years of experience and evaluation of important factors, including design, quality, ecological production, price, and availability," says managing director Petr Kunt.
