The panoramic design is one of the important benefits of the Schüco aluminum sliding systems of the ASS 77 PD series. The insulated profiles, manufactured in several lines based on the level of thermal insulation, are characterized by clean lines, maximum transparency, and frames hidden within the building structure. The large-format sliding doors are fully glazed, and the minimum visible width occurs only where the wings meet. Selected profiles also allow for an attractive 90° corner design without an undesirable fixed post. Although the trend of automation with electric controls for windows and doors is generally emphasized in buildings, Schüco's innovative offering also takes into account the economic aspect and the request from some customers for traditional manual control. The new Schüco ASS 77 PD.HI manual sliding system, with sophisticated and fully integrated closing and locking technology, was presented by the company in January at the BAU trade fair in Munich. The aluminum profile allows for safe and comfortable operation of the large-format wing through a minimalist handle.

Schüco ASS 77 PD.HI manual is a thermally insulated aluminum profile with manual control. Insulation bridges filled with foam with highly thermal insulating properties ensure Uw values starting from 0.96 W/(m2K).

The profiles are designed for wings weighing up to 300 kg and dimensions of up to 3200x3000 mm. The basis of the system is a barrier-free double-track mounting frame. Manual operation cannot do without a handle, located on the inner side of the wing. Several design options for the handles, measuring 350 mm, are available. Thanks to the frame hidden in the building structure, the large-format wall is maximally transparent. The strips that secure the glass perfectly slide into pockets in the frame built into the reveal. When closed, only a minimal post (visible width of 30 mm) is visible where the wings meet. The ASS 77 PD.HI manual system also allows for the aforementioned exclusive 90° corner design.

In terms of security, a standard manual 2-point locking latch is included, but the system can also be optionally equipped with a 4-point lock. Maintenance is simple thanks to the innovative lower mounting frame with removable cover plates for the tracks; the replacement of the running wheels can be performed without the need to take out the wing. Debris stuck in the track can be easily vacuumed out.

The construction depth of the wing frame is 77 mm. The height of the external mounting frame is horizontally 90 mm, vertically either 90 mm or newly also 58 mm. This optimizes installation options into the building structure. The slender profiles are compatible with glazing thicknesses of up to 50 mm. They can be fitted with double or triple glazing as per customer preferences and requirements for thermal comfort.

For all those who prefer the electric control option, Schüco offers an alternative solution within the ASS 77 PD systems with panoramic design, using mechatronic fittings Schüco TipTronic and access control, which prevents pinching through sensors. The drive motor is fully integrated into the door frame, eliminating any additional boxes, resulting in a smooth and elegant design. The system is compatible with a fingerprint reader and control via PC or smartphones.
