Schüco International KG's January presentation at the BAU construction fair introduced visitors from around the world to a series of interesting innovations in the portfolio of aluminum window, door, and façade systems for both residential and commercial construction. High-quality processing convinces with a free, individualized approach and efficiency in production and installation. Energy efficiency of system solutions is, of course, a matter of course.

In the area of residential housing, Schüco offers a wide range of products that meet the demanding requirements of architects and investors. Clean, elegant, and minimalist design, excellent thermal insulation properties, high security levels, and cutting-edge technology for automated control and comfortable use of the buildings are the main areas in which windows, doors, and sliding systems are heading.

A good representative of the excellent thermal insulation properties is the Schüco AWS 90.SI+ aluminum window profile, which was first presented in Munich with a certificate confirming its suitability for passive houses. The system also features a design variant of block windows without visible window frames and an ecological alternative AWS 90.SI+ Green, which respects the requirement for using ecological materials.

Among the important prerequisites for construction projects is barrier-free access. In addition to modern automation elements allowing control of windows and doors at the touch of a button or remotely via a computer and smartphone, the foundation in this respect is a threshold-free design of large-format windows and sliding systems. The solution offers an innovative PASK fittings for parallel sliding tilt balcony doors and large-format windows, newly introduced in a threshold-free design.

The clean minimalist look and maximum transparency
are perfectly embodied by a series of large-format sliding systems ASS 77 PD with panoramic design. Profiles, manufactured in several levels of thermal insulation, have frames hidden in the building structure, allow electric and manual control, and feature an attractive 90° corner design.
At least a mention should be made of the SmartStop and SmartClose technologies for safe handling of sliding systems, the basic principle being slowed arrival and safe braking of the sliding wing.

The modular system for controlling, entry monitoring, and securing entrance doors Schüco Door Control System is based on the latest technologies. Simply put, it is a sophisticated control panel made of black glass, elegantly embedded most often directly into the door profile. This year's improvement includes the integration of selected modules into a single field with a touch display, including a numeric keypad, where the digits are randomized for security reasons with each new entry, so it is impossible to decipher the entry code. The system is compatible with smartphones, IP addresses, and intelligent building management systems.

Considerable attention is also deserved by the innovations in the portfolio of Schüco's façade systems for commercial buildings. After the January fair, the new highly thermally insulated slim system FWS 35 PD undoubtedly stands out, which allows for almost frame-free glazed facades. The panoramic design with a minimal sight width of 35 mm guarantees an uninterrupted view from both outside and inside. The profile also meets passive building criteria.

Maximally transparent architecture is also supported by the new FWS 60 CV (Concealed Vent) system. It is a revolutionary solution with discreetly integrated opening elements in the façade, once again combining minimal sight width and excellent thermal and acoustic insulation values. The opening tilting part, installed from ceiling to floor, is indistinguishable from the solid façade from the outside, while from the inside, the difference is revealed only by the handle.
