Schüco CZ s.r.o.

The seven-chamber plastic window profile Schüco Alu Inside without steel reinforcements, which meets the criteria for passive construction due to its excellent static and thermal insulation properties, was first introduced by Schüco International KG a few years ago. Today, the company is expanding this patented technology of extruded aluminum strips into the plastic profile with its own system of bonded dowels, which allow the anchoring of protective railings at windows and balcony doors directly into the window frame. While the usual installation of fall protection on walls poses a problem with disrupting the passive standard in family homes, the Schüco dowel system was designed to meet passive construction criteria. The new fixation method also brings financial and time savings, and the visual design is equally interesting.

The bonded dowel system, for which the manufacturer has filed a patent application, was developed specifically for the Schüco Alu Inside plastic profile in collaboration with the German company Abel Metallwaren. According to the results of the tests conducted, it is evident that this innovative solution meets the requirements of the ETB directive, which deals with the technical specifications of structural components protecting against falls.

Mounting directly into the window frame reduces time demands and increases processing efficiency. The dowels are bonded only from the outside, leaving the window frame intact in the room. Additional drilling through the window frame and rabbet is thus eliminated, minimizing the risk of condensation. The fall protection element can be attached to the window unit in the workshop, speeding up subsequent installation on-site.

The Alu Inside window profile has a construction depth of 82 mm and, compared to profiles with steel reinforcement, has lower weight and excellent static and thermal insulation properties. The optimal arrangement of chambers, reduction of air flow in the sash rabbet, and chambers dimensioned for the placement of additional insulation made of Neopor® contribute to a thermal insulation value of Uf up to 0.74 W/(m2K). The profile has been certified according to the requirements of the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt. The triple sealing insert guarantees good sound insulation properties and resistance to weather influences. Due to the absence of steel and insulating foam, the profile is 100% recyclable. There are several surface finishes available, including exclusive metallic color technology. The variability of the profile is enhanced by the possibility of glazing in the frame.

An alternative system for fixing fall protection, which also meets the requirements of the ETB directive, is offered by Schüco as part of its portfolio of plastic profiles with steel reinforcement.
