The deadline to apply for the 6th year of the competition for students and young architects under 33 – YOUNG ARCHITECT AWARD 2014 is July 3. Take the chance and submit your proposal on the topic of Painful Places in Cities and Towns – abandoned industrial sites. Join the fight for financial and material prizes. Submitted works will be judged by a panel of experts consisting of prominent Czech architects and professionals. The studies will be presented to the public as part of a traveling exhibition (e.g., at the FOR ARCH fair, in the Regional Gallery of Liberec (Lázně), or in the Urban Center in Brno). Winners will be given space for presentation in professional publications. Add your perspective on the use of industrial buildings and sites for new functions in a broader urban context. The competition is intended for students or graduates of architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and garden design, but also for self-taught practitioners in the field.
