Schüco DCS SmartTouch: Open the door for visitors using your mobile, you don’t need to be at home

The new Schüco SmartTouch door control system combines professional door audio/video communication with easily manageable and secure access control. The Schüco DCS SmartTouch system, which won the 2020 German Design Award and the 2019 Red Dot Design Award, includes a video camera, doorbell, and access control in a single elegant module. All its components are set up and operated through the new Schüco app. Thanks to the built-in 4.3-inch touchscreen display, the DCS SmartTouch system can be operated like a smartphone, or controlled via a smartphone, even when you are not at home and the visitor is already knocking at the door.

Mobile access, maximum user comfort, and optimal security – the DCS (Door Control System) SmartTouch offers a range of benefits that make life easier for people. All configuration and control take place in the new Schüco app, available for free for iOS and Android devices. The app allows you to enter house numbers, create PIN codes, and manage contacts. Additionally, external users can be invited into the app, allowing them to open the entrance door themselves. Another advantage of the Schüco app is the ability to use it even when you are not at home – you can receive a call from the entrance door on your smartphone, even outside the local network, and communicate with the person standing in front of your door while you are delayed at work or in traffic. This function is technologically secured by the new Schüco Cloud solution, which offers maximum stability and quick notifications that automatically appear on your phone. If you are connected to the internet, the monitoring feature allows you access to the camera and microphone even when you are away from home, even if no one has rung the doorbell. Thanks to built-in infrared LEDs, the full HD camera captures video of very high quality, even in poor lighting conditions. Communication with the DCS SmartTouch system and its control can also take place from the Schüco SmartTouch intercom station via the LAN network. The intelligent door communication system is therefore ideal for private homes and residential buildings with many tenants who change regularly.

Simple manufacturing, quick setup

The DCS SmartTouch system also simplifies work for manufacturers. The rectangular cutout for the entire module and a separate installation housing that provides even better moisture protection enable quick manufacturing and installation. Using a testing mode, all important features can be tested directly in production, thus preventing any delays on-site during the actual installation. Furthermore, the DCS SmartTouch system operates wirelessly, meaning no additional cabling to the router is required. The system's setup has been designed so that end-users can handle it themselves with the help of a detailed manual.

Possibility of additional installation instead of the original doorbell

The DCS SmartTouch system is available for Schüco aluminum doors for installation directly into the outer frame or sash frame. Its additional installation into the door communication system is also possible. If there is already a doorbell functioning at the door (regardless of the provider), the standard doorbell can be replaced with the DCS SmartTouch system in a classic or recessed version. The existing two-wire connection is used for power supply, while communication is ensured by the wireless WiFi network.

Security for above-standard requirements

In the case of above-standard requirements for maximum security, two additional modules can be added to the Schüco DCS SmartTouch system – Schüco DoorProtect and Schüco NetProtect. The Schüco DoorProtect module serves to enhance the security level of the electric lock. It is installed directly into the door profile without the need for additional cutting. If it detects a command to open, it verifies authorization via RS485 or Bluetooth LE 4.0 beforehand. The system then sends the signal to the lock only in case the result is positive. The Schüco NetProtect module includes the functions of the Schüco DoorProtect module, adding security for the home network. It is installed from the inside into the profile or distribution cabinet, or into the ceiling. By connecting to the SmartTouch system within the LAN network, this module can detect an unauthorized access attempt and disconnect the system from the home network.
