The LIBERTY entrance system offers a comprehensive solution and a unified design for elements at the entrance to a house: gate, mailbox, electrical box, bell, camera, or trash can cover. We talked with Petr Paksi, managing director of JAP FUTURE, and landscape architect Jakub Finger, founder of the Partero studio, about this successful new product on the market.

ENERGY - cover for electric box, GATIE - gate, RINGIE - bell, mailbox, LABEL - house number

1) Mr. Paksi, you launched the LIBERTY entrance system, which quickly won the GRAND PRIX for the best product at the FOR ARCH 2022 fair. There has also been immediate positive feedback from architects and potential customers. How would you characterize its uniqueness?

Definitely in its complexity, it is a cohesive system that addresses important functions associated with the use of a house… mailbox, bell, hidden entrance camera, gate, trash can cover, for electrical or gas box, house number. It deserves huge attention with the box for storing packages without the presence of the property owner. No other company in Europe offers such a cohesive system, making it a European unique.

2) The established way of solving the placement of the entrance gate, mailbox, electrical box, or trash can at every new building, but often also during the renovation of a house, can mean a notorious thrown glove for architects and demanding clients, as tailored solutions tend to be financially and time-consuming. I assume this was also the reason why you were approached by the renowned landscape architect Jakub Finger from the Partero studio?

The truth is that we had arranged a meeting, but for me, it was for a completely different reason. When I found out that Jakub is a landscape architect, I wanted to cancel the meeting because I thought it would be about “birdhouses” or something similar. However, Jakub convinced me to come, and right from the beginning, I was excited because I was sure that a unique project could emerge within the whole of Europe. No company has such a cohesive entrance system in its portfolio.

3) Mr. Finger, why did you come up with a proposal that offers a comprehensive solution and a unified design for elements at the entrance to a house, thus addressing functions that are more or less difficult to unify?

The front space of a house is, simply put, a handshake with the house. Cultivation is a good beginning. Right in the front space, besides pavement and vegetation, there are many necessary, relatively large elements that have their important place there. These elements are a fundamental compositional element and are often consciously or unconsciously overlooked. LIBERTY offers a complete range with flexible modularity and precise detailing. Prototyping and series production have allowed us to achieve unique precision, which is very difficult and uneconomical to achieve in custom production.

4) Mr. Paksi, the market has gotten used to you offering high-quality interior elements with minimalist design. Could you describe the material solution of the LIBERTY entrance system in more detail?

After testing various materials, we chose a three-millimeter aluminum sheet, which is optimal for outdoor use. Moreover, the incorporation of titanium passivation before powder coating makes the product a true long-lasting performer, which the customer can look forward to enjoying for many years.

5) Mr. Paksi, the LIBERTY system starts with nine modules. Are you currently planning to expand them further, or will you monitor individual requests from architects for now?

As mentioned earlier, I perceive variability mainly in modularity and dimensional diversity. However, as in many industries, the most expensive aspect is product development. We developed the LIBERTY entrance system for nearly a year, and at this stage, atypical production is not on the agenda. We will closely monitor customer requests, and if a meaningful demand arises for additional elements, such as storage for tools, grills, or scooters, we will respond appropriately.

PaedDr. Petr Paksi, DBA
Managing Director of JAP FUTURE

I lead the company, both others and myself, with a clear vision, and I try to be my own leader based on my values. I prefer delegating authority within the company and close collaboration within the team. I seek knowledge and experience from successful companies, and in turn, both I and my company pass on experiences further.

In recent years, JAP FUTURE has emphasized minimalist interior design in its products, in which it is at the forefront, as evidenced by various awards and collaborations with leading architects. In its wide product portfolio, two unique systems stand out - the Door and Entrance systems, which align with modern global trends.

I have been married for 31 years, a happy grandfather full of optimism, I respect healthy nutrition, and I do not neglect movement, I exercise at least 5 times a week.
