VEKA, the manufacturer of high-class A plastic window and door profiles, has created a professional online tool for its partners for detailed design of windows and doors, including all certificates and documentation creation for business offers and tenders. VEKA FSP WinDoPlan also offers features for designing connections to masonry, calculating heat losses, and more, including the option to directly contact the supplier's online support. A fresh addition is the support for three-dimensional planning and BIM.
“The amount of information required in tenders, planning, and production of windows is constantly increasing. It is becoming more common for the end customer to demand detailed descriptions, parameters, documentation, and certificates already within the tender process. These requirements are nearly impossible to meet without the appropriate software tools. With FSP WinDoPlan, we provide an online application that makes planning and preparing offers for partners much easier,” explains Milan Klepsa, representative of VEKA for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The web planning tool can easily replace traditional planning programs used by employees in production on local PCs. It encompasses all VEKA system products and elements, and designers and window manufacturers can collaboratively plan the required assemblies within it. Moreover, they can rely on the system to immediately alert them to any deviations from the parameters set by technical regulations and rules. VEKA FSP WinDoPlan also offers window manufacturers the option to share information. It supports, for instance, export to the GAEB data format, commonly used by design offices in Germany. An undeniable advantage for Czech partners and customers is also the fact that the FSP WinDoPlan environment, like the VEKA online portal, is currently available not only in German and English but also in Czech.
A fresh update within FSP WinDoPlan is the addition of support for three-dimensional planning and BIM, or Building Information Modelling. “This is a standard for the digital collection and interconnection of data in construction. BIM allows for work in up to five dimensions, where the fourth is time and the fifth is costs, as well as processing information about the quantity and properties of construction elements,” says Milan Klepsa.
The WinDoPlan application, for example, allows exports in IFC format and also offers a plugin for compatibility with two professional BIM software – ArchiCAD and Revit. This way, it is possible to configure windows or doors in WinDoPlan, and everything is automatically imported into your project that you have developed in one of the aforementioned software.
