Brno's Bosonohy have completed the transformation of the square, with the addition of a fountain and greenery

Brno – The Brno district of Bosonohy has completed the transformation of Bosonožské Square after several years, costing 35 million crowns. Before the renovations, the 400-meter-long square served primarily as a parking area for cars. It now features a new fountain, greenery, and paved areas. The promenade space in the shape of a drop connects the restored statues of Saint Florian and Saint John of Nepomuk, said the district mayor Martin Černý (KDU-ČSL) in a press release.

The work on the adjustments to Bosonožské Square was divided into three phases. In the first phase, a large modern fountain was created, and the construction company renovated the area in front of the chapel of Saint Florian along with adjacent paved areas. Gardeners planted over 2000 flowers in the flower beds and added four new lime trees to the avenue. The second and third phases included the remodeling of the park near the primary school and the construction of concrete stairs that, along with a stage, will serve cultural events.

The square features a lit promenade sidewalk lined with flower beds and trees. According to Černý, the care for these will be ensured for the next three years. Children have gained a playground with a fire truck. A compacted area with an irrigation system, which utilizes rainwater from the school's roof, was created beneath the primary school building. An outdoor chess table will also be added under the lime trees.

"Of the 35 million, 11.07 million was covered by a grant from the Integrated Regional Operational Programme, with the rest from the Brno City Council and our budget. This is one of the largest investments in the history of Bosonohy, and I am glad that the square is already serving community events. We want it to be a place where people come to sit, meet, and feel at home," stated Černý.
